Sometimes our ideas reach for the sky and the results may not quite reach the same heights. Well, that’s where we thought we were at as our 1st read-a-thon and pledge drive approached. When we try new things, there is always a bit of fear that comes along with the unknown. 

VIDAREADS was a new thing for us and our PTA put hours of planning, fundraising, and outreach efforts bringing it to life because we care deeply for our students at VIDA and want them to reach for the sky too! 

While we decided to change the format of the read-a-thon from a live event on campus to a virtual event, the mission did not change and we were still able to achieve great results! 

Our reading teams raised $4,800!!! We had support from our school families as well as the district board members, VIDA staffulty, community partners like Mathnasium and you, our PTA members! 

The funds raised from this event help support the on-campus reading specialist who works one on one and in small groups with kids who need extra help in reading.
